Abstract

This Scientific Attitude Assessment Instrument can help teachers in assessing how students can solve existing problems and how students can overcome them. This research was conducted by making a questionnaire to measure the attitude of elementary school students towards science through scientific stages or procedures. Based on the study's findings, four characteristics of scientific attitudes - curiosity, open-mindedness, appreciation of facts and evidence, and critical thinking - have been identified as the most appropriate for elementary school students. The development of scientific positions is closely related to the systematic process of building research instruments. These advancements involve several important steps that collectively contribute to the durability and validity of the instrument. After testing the developed instruments, 15 statements related to the science attitudes of elementary school students were obtained. Further factor analysis conducted on each group consistently produced 4 factors, with almost the same distribution of items, thus confirming the validity of the results.
